What we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Note for the site owner: this document describes what this website actually does and is a solid starting point, but it is not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it against your final practices before you launch — then set NEXT_PUBLIC_LEGAL_REVIEWED=true to hide this notice. Visitors can see this box.

The short version

We collect only what you type into our forms, plus basic technical information every website receives. We use it to reply to you and to run our business. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone who is not helping us deliver our service to you.

Who we are

Tavansa is a digital services business based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Tavansa. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.

If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us at support@tavansa.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the enquiry form or the free audit form, we collect:

  • Your name and your business name
  • Your phone number and email address
  • Your business category and location
  • Your website address, if you have one
  • What you need help with, your approximate budget and your timeline
  • Anything you write in the message field

Every field is either required to reply to you or clearly marked optional. You choose what to share.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, our server records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the page that referred you. We also record the page a form was submitted from and any campaign parameters in the URL (utm_source and similar), so we know which of our own marketing is working.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you. This is the main reason. You asked us to get in touch, and we use your contact details to do that.
  • To prepare what you asked for. For a free audit, we look at the website and public profiles you told us about.
  • To provide our services, if you become a client.
  • To improve our own marketing, using aggregate information about which pages and campaigns lead to enquiries.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations, such as keeping invoices.

We do not use your information to send marketing messages you did not ask for. If we ever start a newsletter, it will be opt-in, and every message will have an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:

  • Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its data
  • Our email provider, so we can reply to you
  • Our customer relationship and scheduling tools, where we keep enquiries organised
  • WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us that way — their own terms then apply

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, in case you come back to us.
  • Client records: for the duration of our work together and for 8 years afterwards, which is the retention period Indian tax and accounting rules require.
  • Server logs: typically 30 to 90 days.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and as a matter of our own policy regardless of where you are, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data of yours we hold
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it
  • Withdraw consent for us to contact you
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf

Email support@tavansa.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and asking will not affect any service we are providing to you.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted encrypted, and access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect more than we need, which is the most effective protection there is.

Children

Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

This site links to other websites — WhatsApp, scheduling tools and the businesses we write about. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we suggest reading their policies before sharing anything with them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted here.

Complaints

Please contact us first — most issues are a misunderstanding we can fix quickly. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
